Reset LinkBlue Password

How to Reset Your linkblue Password

Password guidelines

Please refer to Password Guidelines for current ITS password guidelines.

If you know your password

  1. Visit ukam.uky.edu.
  2. Click Returning Users.
  3. Enter your linkblue credentials and click Login.
  4. Perform the two-factor log-in steps.
  5. Click Change Password.
  6. Enter your current password.
  7. Enter and confirm the new password using the password guidelines above.
  8. Click Change.

If you forgot your password

Passwords can be reset by visiting https://ukam.uky.edu or by visiting https://reset.uky.eduIf you use ukam.uky.edu to do a password reset, you will need to click the Forgot Password button to reach the reset wizard.

The latest version of The University of Kentucky Account Manager (UKAM) and Password Reset Wizard no longer utilize security questions as a password reset methodDUO Two-Factor challenges are the most secure method to use for resetting your password. In addition, it is strongly recommended that you set up Duo Mobile and email (not your UK email address) as your recovery methodsThe cell phone method does not work in certain countriesIf you are overseas you might not be able to recover your password using the cell phone methodIf you do not have Duo Mobile or a recovery email configured for your account, contact ITS Customer Services at 859-218HELP(4357) or email 218help@uky.edu for assistance with resetting your password.

  1. In your preferred browser navigate to reset.uky.edu.
  2. Enter your linkblue username (A), complete the required CAPTCHA (B), and then click Next (C).

  3. Select your preferred password reset method from the options available (D) and click Next (E).
    Note: Security questions no longer appear as a reset method option.


    Note: Your password reset methods are determined by the options you have previously enabled in the linkblue Account Manager.
  4. Confirm your identity with the method you chose:

    Email or Cell Phone

    Enter the required reset confirmation code (F) you received, and click Next (G).

    Duo Two-Factor Challenge

    If you select Duo Two-Factor Challenge to confirm your identity, use one of the three methods below:
    • Push
      Click Push (H) and click accept on your phone when the push is received, you will automatically go to the next screen to create a new password.
    • Utilizing the generated passcode from DUO Mobile app
      Enter the DUO generated code from your device in the “Passcode” field (J) and click Confirm (K). 
      Note: A DUO passcode is used when wireless or cellular data cannot be accessedFor instructions on using DUO when wireless or cellular data is not available, refer to KB0012395 linked below. 
    • SMS
      Click SMS (I), enter the passcode you receive in the “Passcode” field (J) and click Confirm (K) 

  5. Enter and confirm the new password using the password guidelines above. 

    Please note that certain legacy systems at the University do not accept spaces as leading or trailing characters in a password. 
  6. Once finished you should be greeted with a “Password Successfully Reset” prompt.  If you would like to test your new password you can click the link for Account Manager Login and attempt a sign-in to the linkblue Account Manager.
