Access Microsoft 365 email on the web

How do I access my Microsoft 365 email on the web?

UK’s Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) webpage offers browser-based access to your University-provided Microsoft 365 mailboxTo access Microsoft 365, follow these steps:

Note: To access your email directly on the web without going through the Microsoft 365 portal, visit https://outlook.office.com.

  1. Open a browser and visit http://m365.uky.eduThe Microsoft 365 login page opens.
  2. Enter your linkblue username@uky.edu (e.g.: abcd123@uky.edu), then click NextThe UK linkblue sign-in page opens.
  3. Enter your linkblue password and click Sign inYour Microsoft 365 homepage opens.
    Note: Don’t use your University Email Address (firstname.lastname@uky.edu) to sign in to your email account. 
  4. Perform the Two-Factor Log-In (2FA) steps to authenticate.
  5. Click on the Outlook icon in the Microsoft 365 app menuYour Outlook inbox page opens in your browser.

Using the Outlook client on PC or Mac

For Microsoft 365 email, ITS recommends using the Microsoft Outlook clientYou can download the standalone Outlook client to your PC or Mac by performing the following steps:

  1. Open a Browser and visit m365.uky.edu.
  2. Sign-in using your linkblue credentialsYour Microsoft 365 homepage displays in the browser.
  3. Click Install Office and select Microsoft 365 apps from the drop-downThe download starts.
  4. Follow the instructions in the downloaded installer.
  5. After the Outlook client is installed, open Outlook and follow the instructions to configure your Microsoft 365 email account.
