How To Move The Duo Mobile App To a New Phone
If you are upgrading to a new mobile device, transferring data and apps from an old device to a new device will not transfer all the settings that Duo Mobile uses to provide secure Two-Factor Log-InYou need to un-enroll your old device before transferring the data on the device to the new device.
Note: If you have already set up Duo Restore on your current phone, use the instructions below to move your Duo settings to your new phone:

Un-enrolling your old device from Duo
Note: You will need a bypass code to sign on to ukam.uky.edu if you removed Duo Mobile from the old phone, the old phone was lost, stolen, or brokenRefer to KB0012268 (How do I get a bypass code if I don’t have my Two-Factor Log-In device?) linked below for instructionsAfter signing in to UKAM with the bypass code, go to step 8 to un-enroll your device.
If you have your old phone
Sign in to UKAM, perform these steps to un-enroll your old device from two-factor log-in.
- Visit https://ukam.uky.edu and click Returning Users.
- Enter your linkblue credentials and click Login.
- Perform the Two-Factor Log-In when challenged.
- If your old device is connected to Wi-Fi then you can use push and approve the request on the old device and proceed to step 8. If it is not online, open Duo Mobile on your old device and perform steps 5-7.
- Click Show next to University of Kentucky.
- The six-digit passcode displaysIt is valid for 30 secondsYou can regenerate the code by tapping the cycling arrow icon.
- Enter the passcode displayed in DUO Mobile into the “Passcode” field in the “Confirm Your Identity” dialogDon’t insert spaces.
- Once in UK Account Manager, Select the Two-Factor Log-In tab.
- Click Remove(A)The old device is un-enrolled.
- Remove the Duo Mobile App from the old device.
- You can now enroll your new device.
Enrolling your new device
After un-enrolling your old device, you can install Duo Mobile on your new device and enroll it in the two-factor log-in systemKeep UK Account Manager open until you add your new device
