How To Install Citrix Workspace on a Mac

Background

Installing Citrix Workspace on your Mac will enable you to access the virtual machine that runs the MedConnect apps at UKFollow these instructions below to install Citrix Workspace.

Note: The Citrix Workspace client is also available for mobile platforms but offers a suboptimal experience.

Install instructions

1. Visit the latest Citrix Workspace for Mac download page.
2. Click Download Citrix Workspace app for MacThe app downloads to Downloads by default.
   
3. Open the Finder from the Dock.
   
4. Browse to the folder you downloaded the Citrix Workspace installer app to.
5. Double click CitrixWorkspaceApp.dmg.
   
6. Double click Install Citrix WorkspaceAn installer verification dialog opens. 
   
7. Click Continue.
   
8. Click Continue.
   
9. Click Continue. The terms dialog drops down.
   
10. Click Agree.
    
11. Click Install.
    
12. If prompted, enter your admin credentials and click Install SoftwareThe installer will install the software.
    
13. When the Add Account dialog opens, select the Add Account checkbox.
    • Enter https://medconnectplus.mc.uky.edu as the server address.
      
14.  The installer completes the installClick CloseThe Move to Trash dialog drops down.
    
15. Click Move to Trash.

Use Citrix apps on MedConnectPlus

1. Open a browser and visit https://medconnectplus.mc.uky.edu
2. Enter you credentials and click Log On.
   
3.  Perform the Duo two-factor log-in steps.
   
4. In the APPS tab using the “Categories” view, click to select the folder with the app you want to run (i.eEpic)Select the star to add this app to your Favorites screen.
   
5. Click the app you want to runThe .ica file opens.
   Note: Click APPS at the top of the page to return to the Main selection screen if you want a different app.
   
6. The Citrix icon (A) appears in the Dock.
   
7. You may be prompted to allow the Citrix extension to runOpen Security Preferences (B).
8. Click Allow. 
   
9. In the virtual terminal window that opens, follow any of the in app prompts to start your session with the app you are using.
